Gilbert Picq Description

The estate does not own a large spread of vineyards, which may also account for the exceptional quality of their Chablis AC bottling, as there is always sufficient attention paid to the village wine in the cellars by Didier Picq. The Picq Chablis AC is one of the finest examples to be found in the appellation, with the structure and cut to age gracefully for up to twenty years. It is a great, great value.

Wine Advocate: 87 Points

The 2010 Chablis is a very pretty wine made in a generous style for the year. It shows plenty of juicy peaches and apricots in an accessible style supported by clean mineral notes. A creamy, generous finish leaves an impressive last impression. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2016.

Steven Tanzer: 89 Points

Tangy aromas of orange and lemon zest, plus a whiff of toasty reduction and a hint of hazelnut. Juicy, primary and serious, with bright soft citrus, lemon and white flower flavors given cut by firm acidity. Very sexy, tangy wine with a persistent, juicy finish. Drink now or over the next few years.

Burghound

An extremely fresh and highly expressive nose of classic Chablis aromas that include green fruit, iodine and oyster shell where the latter element can also be found on the impressively rich and well-concentrated flavors that possess solid underlying tension and fine length on the complex and sappy finish.
