‘La Plage’ translates to ‘The Beach’, and refers to the sandy soils of the vineyard from which the grapes for this wine are sourced. The Gamay here is of the same variety that is planted in the Beaujolais. The sandy, limestone soils and younger vine age of this site make for a fresh and lifted red wine that is ideal for more immediate drinking.
