Winemaker’s note: “Single vineyard, single barrel. Riesling from a picturesque steep site slope with a view on the whole world. With a high density of up to 9000 plants per hectare, in this vineyard at around 300m above sea level the vines root in brittle schist which slowly transforms into hard limestone mixed with quartz towards the lower part of the vineyard. This particular formation of the soil, combined with an incredibly cool microclimate, creates a wine of high delicacy. Together with his friends, Christian works this precious soil carefully by horse.”

Age of Vines: 40 years

Grapes: 100% Riesling

Vineyard: Single vineyard in high density planting, steep schist slope, with dense limestone and quartz towards the bottom

Making of: Grapes are hand-harvested and gently pressed with the power of a handshake. The juice ferments and ages in a large Stockinger barrel before being bottled without fining or filtering and no addition of sulfur.
