Bencze Kekfrankos 2022 750ml

Vineyard: ‘Rókaluki’: 2 hectares of Kékfrankos (Blaufrankisch) planted in 2017 at 110-120 meters above sea level. Brown clay topsoil mixed with basalt rocks and sand-limestone bedrock.

Making of (2022): Grapes are harvested by hand, with the first day’s yield immediately direct-pressed — part whole-cluster and the rest destemmed by hand. In the remaining 3 days of harvest, grapes are kept whole-cluster to ferment for 7 days before being pressed. The wine ages in 2000L cask for one year before being bottled unfined & unfiltered with zero added sulfites.

Personality: An easy-drinking light red wine who is fruit-driven, bright and fresh, herbaceous and peppery.
