Jean-Christophe Garnier La Roche Bezigon 2024 750ml

Bezigon is a four hectare lieu-dit, though not everything is planted in vines. There are no neighbors and the vines are surrounded by forest. Two hectares are planted in vines, aged around 25 years on average: mostly Chenin Blanc with a bit of Pineau d’Aunis.

The vines are planted on green schist and are exposed North. The soils here are poor and suffer from drought as the soils drain very well. The site is historically known to produce great liquoreux due to its proximity to the Layon.

Typically the grapes here are harvested later than other sites yet it is often the first white wine Garnier bottles.
