La Grange Tiphaine Epinays 2023 1.5L

Epinays is a single-vineyard wine made from a separate parcel of Chenin Blanc that Damien wanted to showcase: still in the Montlouis appellation, with beautiful terroir and strong south-facing exposure.

Grape: Chenin Blanc

Soil: Clay and limestone

Vinification (2023): Grapes are hand harvested, destemmed, and pressed to barrels for a long, 9-month fermentation on the lees. The wine is moved to foudre, amphorae, and concrete tanks for another 9 months of aging before being blended and bottled.

Personality (winemaker’s note): “A certain sweetness is present on the nose, with aromas of pear juice, apricot, blonde tobacco, gingerbread. Notes of grapefruit, apricot and rose fill the glass. The balance on the palate is immediate, the texture reminiscent of ripe fruit. The mineral soil is highlighted in a long, fresh finish. A wine made for the table.”
